“The West Assaults the Dignity of Women” - Imam in Fridley, Minnesota

An imam in the greater Twin Cities area discusses the “abhorrent” treatment of women in the West as opposed to the “dignity” they enjoy under Islamic doctrine.

Dignity indeed!  

Let’s start with the beating of women required under shariah.  

How about the fact that Muslim women in Islamic (and non-Islamic) countries have been assaulted, imprisoned and killed for not wearing the hijab or donning an “incorrect” hijab?

Let’s talk about how girls can be forcibly married at menarche or before.  

What about the requirement for women and girls to be subjugated by male guardians and forbidden freedom of movement?  Or, the provision that husbands may rape their wives, who must always be available for their sexual pleasure?

How about the female genital mutilation of young girls?

Temporary marriages to sanctify promiscuous sex surely denote dignity as does the triple talaq in the case of divorce.
